Sorbitol (DC - Directly Compressible) is specifically designed to assist tablet manufacturers in making high quality chewable, mints, gums or sublingual tablets. Due to its low sweetness profile, great binding and flowing properties, it is also often used as a filler in regular dietary supplements and pharmaceutical tablets.

This product was specifically developed to help our customers that are looking to create confectionery products similar to Sweet Tarts, breath mints (Polos/Life Savers), Pez or Tic Tacs. While the sweetness profile is very short and low with Sorbitol, it has a cooling effect that our current customers use to enhance the taste of mints in particular.

Simply add your flavoring, active ingredient and coloring and the Sorbitol DC grade will act as the binder and flowing agent. It is important to note that depending on the active ingredient you might be required to add an anti-caking agent to the mix. If you have formulation questions then please do reach out to our team.

Sorbitol DC has a glycemic index of 4 which compared to 65 that regular sugars have, it is considered very low. Because of this Sorbitol DC is good for diabetic diets and products that are sold into health-conscious markets.

Sorbitol DC, is considered a sugar alcohol, which means that it has under ½ the net carbs traditionally associated with sugars. It also does not get broken down in the mouth which means that it does not contribute to tooth decay.

Unlike normal Sorbitol that cannot be used for tableting, the DC grade of Sorbitol from Subchems will not only flow extremely well through your tablet press but into small die cavities as well. This allows you to run your tablet press at higher speeds saving you time and money.

Feedback from our customers indicates that Sorbitol dissolves in the mouth in a smooth consistent manner. This gives the customer what is typically recognized as a smooth mouth feel to the product.

Tabletable DC grade Sorbitol leaves little to no after taste in the mouth. Our customers report that the users of their products are able to pick out the flavors of their active ingredients over the taste of the sugar.
